The technology of preparing durene with tetramethylbenzene means Under the action of the catalyst, the tetramethylbenzene isomerizes and finally produces durene. 

 

Durene is an important chemical raw material, mainly used in the production of pyromellitic anhydride, also used in the production of polyimide resin, dye, plasticizer, surfactant and so on.

 

The production methods of durene include recrystallization separation of heavy aromatic hydrocarbon, isomerization of Tetramethylbenzene and alkylation of unsymtrimethyl benzene. At present, the recrystallization separation of reformed heavy aromatic hydrocarbons is generally adopted in the industry.
