The solid acid esterification technique refers to the production of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) by using solid acid as catalyst to catalyze the reaction of fatty acid with methanol.
FAME is an important raw chemical material, widely used in the synthesis of advanced surfactants, used as additives for advanced lubricating oil and fuel, Synthesis of emulsifier products, solvent for spices etc. Saturated FAME can be hydrogenated to form fatty alcohol and applied to surfactant industry. Unsaturated FAME can be processed into EFAME and applied in plasticizer field.
Various fatty acids, methanol or ethanol.
