After discussions, on April 13, 2021, the Japanese government held a cabinet meeting and formally decided to discharge the nuclear wastewater stored at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the sea after filtering and diluting it again, ignoring questions and objections from domestic and international public opinion.
