  • The role and effect of zeolite in wastewater treatment
Zeolite is a water-bearing porous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal aluminosilicate mineral with a skeletal structure. It is widely available, has large reserves, and can be reused through recycling. Zeolite's unique structure, resource distribution and recyclability make it one of the most commonly used water treatment agents in wastewater treatment processes and is widely used for wastewater pollutants such as nitrogen, phosphorus, heavy metals and organic matter.
  • Zeolite regeneration methods and applications
After saturation, the selective adsorption capacity or exchange capacity of zeolite will disappear, therefore, zeolite must be regenerated to restore its adsorption and exchange capacity so that zeolite can be recycled again, which not only saves cost, but also has no pollution to the environment. The regeneration of saturated adsorption zeolites is now a hot topic of research. Currently, physical, chemical, electrochemical and biological methods are the main methods of zeolite regeneration.
  • Comparison of the adsorption gap between zeolite and activated carbon
Zeolite itself has a multi-regular pore structure, and its pores are comparable to the molecular size of general substances, with a diameter of about 0.3~1nm, and its specific surface area is as high as 400~800m2/g. The special physical structure makes zeolite have two adsorption characteristics: selective adsorption and efficient adsorption.
  • Interaction of zeolites with proteins and biomedical effects
Zeolites are considered as new biomaterials that can be used for medical treatment due to their low toxicity and good biocompatibility. This paper describes the interaction between zeolites and proteins. Zeolites specifically bind or react with proteins due to their ion exchange, surface properties and controlled pore structure, thus affecting the properties and behavior of proteins.
  • Zeolite can be used as an excellent hemostatic agent
Rapid hemostasis is essential for first aid in war wounds, and tourniquets have been the first choice for battlefield treatment. With the changes in battlefield injuries and the development of hemostasis concepts, emergency hemostasis techniques have changed from physical hemostasis to chemical and biological hemostasis, so scholars in the field at home and abroad have developed and applied a variety of new hemostatic materials and methods.
  • Zeolite can be used as a new modified reinforcing agent in rubber manufacturing
As a traditional rubber manufacturing process, carbon black is often used as reinforcing agent, but the existence of carbon black is likely to cause problems such as complicated rubber production processes and higher costs, and also has a serious impact on the production environment.
