Detailed explanation of the crystal structure of zeolite

Zeolites have a shelf-like structure, in which molecules are linked together like a frame in the crystal, forming many cavities in the middle. Because there are many water molecules in these cavities, they are water-bearing minerals. The water in the zeolite can escape, but this does not destroy the internal crystal structure of the zeolite.

Therefore, it can also reabsorb water or other liquids again. So, this has become a feature that people use natural zeolites. We can use zeolite to separate some substances produced during oil refining, to make the air dry, to allow it to adsorb certain pollutants, to purify and dry alcohol, etc. The crystal structure of zeolite can be divided into three components, let's take a look at them below.

 

(1) Aluminosilicate skeleton. After curing of heavily polluted soil, the vegetable lead and copper content was significantly reduced, but the lead content still exceeded the standard, and the cadmium change was not significant. The results of Liu Xiuzhen et al. showed that in cadmium light and moderate pollution, the amount of cadmium in ocimum sanctum was reduced after the application of zeolite; cadmium heavy pollution significantly increased the accumulation of cadmium in ocimum sanctum, and this mechanism needs to be further investigated. 


In addition, because zeolite has good adsorption and selective exchange of N, K and P, it can play a better role in fertilizer retention and control by improving soil and controlling the release of fertilizer nutrients. For example, mixing zeolite with chemical fertilizers or using it to make compound fertilizers or coated fertilizers directly into the soil can, to a certain extent, prevent or reduce the loss of nutrients and effective nutrient elements and improve the soil properties. In short, zeolite is rich in variety and will be widely used in the production of soil improvement, soil organic fertilizer and soil substrate because of its unique superiority in terms of non-toxic and harmless physical and chemical properties and cheap and easy availability of resources.

Thermal recovery method The thermal recovery method is mainly for heavy metal (e.g.) contaminated soil with low melting point or high volatility. This technology acts on the contaminated soil through high-frequency voltage. Through the heating effect of high-frequency electricity, the temperature of the soil is increased thus leading to the volatilization of heavy metals, which are then recycled, thus achieving the purpose of soil remediation.
