 Air purification materials

Zeolite, as a porous mineral material with microporous pore and void structure and ion exchange and adsorption selectivity, can be a medium for nano-scale unitary substances to arrange and generate assembled materials in one-dimensional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces. The zeolite nanopore-metal ion and cluster assembly materials that compound the properties of nano-unit substances and zeolite pore channels provide a good basis for their realization in purifying indoor air.

Inorganic antimicrobial deodorants with inorganic antimicrobial and rapid adsorption and deodorization functions prepared by zeolite as a carrier, through the pore adsorption effect of activation, antimicrobial components in the nano-pore channel assembly and stable curing technology can become a local environmental air purification product for living rooms, bathrooms, car interiors and refrigerators.

Environmental pollution control

Zeolite is a porous mineral with pore structure and water-bearing shelf-like silica-alumina, which has a unique crystal structure and chemical properties that make it have molecular sieving, ion exchange, adsorption and catalytic functions, and thus has a wide range of applications in many environmental fields such as sewage treatment, soil remediation, air pollution treatment, automobile exhaust treatment, etc. The last issue of the tweet has already talked about (zeolite environmental protection mineral materials), so we will not repeat it here.

Paper industry

The unique structural properties of zeolite minerals give high porosity, adsorption, ion exchange, special luster (glass luster, silk luster, pearl luster), etc., which can be used as paper fillers, special coating pigments and water treatment agents.

Zeolite hemostatic agent

Zeolite is a porous crystalline aluminosilicate mineral found in nature, which can absorb large amounts of water and exchange ions with the surrounding solution, and has long-term physical and chemical stability without biological toxicity, which makes zeolite an ideal material for the preparation of hemostatic agents. The main zeolite-based hemostatic agents approved for marketing by the FDA are QC, ACS, ACS, etc. from Z-Drugs.

Nuclear waste treatment

Zeolite can also be used for nuclear waste treatment. For example, plagioclase and filamentous zeolite have radiation resistance and high selective exchange ability for Cs and Sr. Therefore, they can be used to remove Cs and Sr with long half-life in nuclear waste, and to control radioactive contamination by melting zeolite to fix radioactive materials in zeolite lattice for a long time.

Other applications

Zeolite is used as filler in paper, plastic and rubber industries; it can also be used to make new gas phase antirust agent and infrared radiation material; it can also be used for thermal energy storage and solar energy refrigeration; green zeolite can be used as adsorbent for edible oil to remove impurities; the United States has developed fine-grained zeolite has been used as pesticide carrier, liquid fertilizer suspension agent and anti-fertilizer caking agent; lead zeolite can be used to produce lead-acid battery electrode, etc.

With the economic development and improvement of living standard, it is expected that zeolite will be able to have greater prospects of high value utilization in the fields of environmental protection, health care, soil remediation, defense electronics, water treatment, etc. in the future.
