Desulfurization agent, generally refers to the agent that removes free sulfur or sulfur compounds from fuels, raw materials or other materials; in the control and treatment of pollutants, it mainly refers to the agent that can remove sulfur oxides (including SO2 and SO3) used in exhaust gases.

Desulfurization agent to remove sulfur dioxide in flue gas, the most used is inexpensive lime, limestone and alkaline solution prepared with calcareous agents. Chemical plants, smelters, etc. often use sodium carbonate, alkaline aluminum sulfate and other solutions as desulfurization agents to treat tail gas containing sulfur dioxide, and can be desorbed and recycled.

Various alkaline compounds can be used as desulfurization agents.


This mixed solution desulfurization agent has surface activity and catalytic oxidation, which can sexually promote the direct reaction of SO2, accelerate the dissolution of CaCO3, promote the rapid oxidation of CaSO3 to CaSO4, strengthen the precipitation of CaSO4, reduce the liquid to gas ratio, reduce the calcium to sulfur ratio, and reduce the evaporation of water. 


When the flue gas inlet SO2 concentration increases and is higher than the design value, the PH value in the absorption tower reaction pool decreases and a larger Ca/S ratio is needed, CaCO3 can be dissolved quickly without expanding the absorption tower reaction pool volume, increasing the calcium ion concentration and keeping the slurry PH value in the normal range, which has a certain buffering effect on the PH value. 


Extending the running time of slurry in working section and reducing the number of slurry dispensing can make the equipment scale significantly reduce, the scale layer becomes thin, and the scale layer is easy to fall off when flushed with water after shutdown.


To the desulfurization system scale plays a dispersion and activity, reduce the accumulation of scale, reduce the content of chloride ions in the slurry, the corrosion of various materials in the desulfurization equipment, the rate of scale have different degrees of reduction, of which carbon steel is reduced the most, corrosion, scale rate can be reduced by 74% and 79%, PVC can be reduced by 48% and 55%.


The addition of desulfurization agent can play the role of scale inhibition, corrosion and corrosion inhibition, reduce the blockage, scaling, corrosion and wear of desulfurization nozzles, reduce the scaling, corrosion and wear of slurry circulation pumps and impellers, and reduce the maintenance and replacement of spare parts in the desulfurization system. Widen the choice of desulfurization materials and improve the reliability of the system.

Under different working conditions, slurry circulation pumps and oxidation fans can be reduced and deactivated to improve desulfurization efficiency, reduce operating costs, suit the variation of sulfur content in coal, and apply to high sulfur coal. In the application of flue gas desulfurization, it has the advantage of broad market promotion and can generate considerable economic and social benefits.
